Feature and Follow Friday #212

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow!

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

Each week there is also a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Find out who they are at Parajunkee or Alison Can Read. It is required, if you participate, to follow the Feature and the hosts.

Question of the Week: What is the biggest city you live near (or interesting landmark)? Show us a postcard picture.

A. My nearest city is Oxford, which I guess is a place lots of people know about. Its famous for its university spires and The Bodleian Library amongst other things.

Of course, Oxford is also famous for being the filming location for many TV series and films, including Inspector Morse and Harry Potter.

Christchurch Dining Hall, (almost) as seen in Harry Potter

Finally, this being a book blog, you can't ignore Oxford's Literary Heritage. Oxford has links with many famous authors including C.S. Lewis, Tolkein, and Lewis Carroll. It is also popular for having several Blackwells bookshops (it should be noted that there is also a Waterstones).

There is lots more I could say about Oxford, and probably lots I don't know as well, but that's all I have time for at the moment.

Have you ever visited Oxford?
What would you say its most famous for?

Ohhh, this is gorgeous! I would absolutely LOVE to go to England someday. x) And just knowing I live around where awesome movies are filmed?! That's cool! I'm in Australia and the closest "landmark" would probably be the Gold Coast. (Although I'm quite a few hours away from it...unfortunately. Gold Coast has awesome beaches.) XD

I guess you don't appreciate a place as much when you live there. Its only since I've lived somewhere else that I've really got to like Oxford. I rarely go into the city though, as it gets so busy with tourists!
I'd love to visit Oxford! Beautiful pictures! New follower on bloglovin :)

Here's my F&F!

Oxford is a lot smaller than London, but only about an hour away from it. Its good if you want somewhere that its possible to do in a day, or are visiting by car so that you can enjoy the nearby countryside as well.
Loved this glimpse of Oxford. Thanks for sharing it with British Isles Friday!
