Hi Abigail,

That first line would definitely make me want to keep on reading. A loud pounding on the door must mean trouble and I need to know more.

I checked out the full synopsis for this one and was hooked straightaway. I like the story switching between moments in time and the content is so strong and emotional, that handled well, it should make for a fantastic read.

It is already on my reading list, so thanks for the introduction.

Have a good weekend, Yvonne

The switching between different time periods was one of the things that really attracted me to the book.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did
A classically scary beginning! We read this one for my book club and I didn't like it because the "hook" was toooooooooooo awful for me to bear. But most of the other ladies liked it. I look forward to your review.

Thanks for joining me on Book Beginnings!

It isn't one for the faint-hearted that's for sure. But I was surprised that, whilst it described the "hook" (as you put it) well, it wasn't too much for me.
That really does not give much of a hint does it. Thanks for posting.

Thanks to you for visting.

It is quite a cliff-hanger type beginning, but not quite as surprising if you know what the book is about
